Charlene Moore, PA-C, MPAS is a Nationally certified Physician Assistant specializing in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Dermatologic Skin Cancer concerns.
Charlene has been working in the medical field since her high school graduation in 1989, starting first with the military, then progressing on into her civilian career in Physical Therapy graduating from Cleveland State University with her Bachelors Degree in Health Science. She worked in this field for 12 years before deciding to challenge herself and go back to school to learn a new trade in surgery.
Charlene graduated Magna Cum Laude from her professional Physician Assistant training and began working with the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio in 2006. She worked specifically with the Chairman of the Plastic Surgery and Dermatology Institute side by side running his practice, acting as First Assistant in the operating room, and taking care of pediatric and adult patients in both the hospital and clinical setting. Charlene dealt with a wide variety of diagnoses ranging from congenital craniofacial anomalies, maxillofacial surgical repair, skin cancer resection and MOHS closures, correction of cosmetic concerns both surgically and non-surgical options of botox, fillers, and laser.
Education is important and to give back to the profession and Charlene routinely took on students to assist them in their passion of becoming a Physician Assistant. She continued her own education and obtained her Masters Degree in Physician Assistant Studies in 2009. She concurrently also began the added role of Mid-Level Manager for 12 practitioners and continued this until she transferred to the Cleveland Clinic Florida Dermatology department in 2014, offering her own independent clinic for the community.
Charlene was the first Mid-Level Practitioner to the Cleveland Clinic Weston dermatology department. She specifically held clinics performing skin cancer screenings, biopsies, cryotherapy, ED&C, Photodynamic Therapy, milia and comedone extraction for ages 12+. Charlene received many letters of appreciation from patients thanking her for her friendly attitude, thoroughness, patience, efficiency, and patient education during their visits. She was a welcome addition to the dermatology department in Weston.
Charlene has now relocated to the city of Port St Lucie and is excited to continue providing her dermatology services to the local community by joining the Select Skin MD team. When not at work, Charlene enjoys being newly married, spending time with her husband and fur baby, kayaking, walking, and reading.
